Nike & Apple Make Out, Birth iPod Shoes?

According to the Hollywood Reporter (as tipped by Stereogum), Nike and Apple are teaming up to create a long distance runner’s wet dream – shoes that communicate with your iPod. Called the Nike+iPod Sport Kit, this new system will allow Nike’s Nike+ shoe line, which are embedded with a little pocket for a sensor, to communicate with the iPod Nano, tracking the runner’s performance and helping to select the perfect song for the runner’s tempo. The kit will be available in two months and will retail for only 29 smack-a-roos. Apparently Lance Armstrong, who plans to run the NY Marathon this year, has already endorsed the product.
