Uber cute J-pop duo/animated rock & roll kids’ stars Puffy AmiYumi are celebrating TEN years together with the release of a new album. Called Splurge, the album will be released on July 25 via Tofu Records and will feature contributions from Jon Spencer, Dexter Holland (Offspring) and writer/producer/artist Butch Walker, not to mention Andy Sturmer of Jellyfish.
Ami Onuki and Yumi Yoshimura will be embarking on a quick North American tour in support of Splurge in July, beginning on July 8 at the Theater Of The Living Arts in Philly. I’m excited to say that I’ll be attending my first Puffy AmiYumi show on the 15th in Chicago, as I’ve been completely intrigued by these two cuties for quite a while now and look forward to seeing just who turns up to catch their live show.
