Marc Perlman (The Jayhawks), Gary Louris (The Jayhawks), Kraig Johnson (Run Westy Run), Dan Murphy (Soul Asylum) and Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) have brought Golden Smog back to life after an eight-year hiatus. Yup, it has been eight years since their last album. The new record, Another Fine Day, hits stores on July 18 via Lost Highway.

Although more dates are on the way, the supergroup has announced two album release shows, taking place in Minneapolis and NYC. Will Tweedy show up to the concerts? Who knows. I’d say the chances are 50/50. To sample a few new tunes, head over to their MySpace page.
