Sleater-Kinney To Call It Quits After Lollapalooza

After eleven years of cranking out badass indie rock, the ladies of Sleater-Kinney have decided to call it a day. The trio made the announcement on their official website, where they said:

“”After eleven years as a band, Sleater-Kinney have decided to go on indefinite hiatus. The upcoming summer shows will be our last. As of now, there are no plans for future tours or recordings.”

“We feel lucky to have had the support of many wonderful people over the years. We want to thank everyone who has worked with us, written kind words about us, performed with us and inspired us.”

We have a few chances left to say goodbye, as the band has five remaining shows on their schedule. Their final show will take place in Chicago at Lollapalooza.

07.29.06 – Louisville, KY (Forecastle Festival)
07.31.06 – Philadelphia, PA (Starlight Ballroom)
08.01.06 – Washington, DC (9:30 Club)
08.02.06 – New York, NY (Webster Hall)
08.04.06 – Chicago, IL (Lollapalooza)
