A music website isn’t necessarily the best place to discuss politics, specifically the parallels between Nixon and Bush and Vietnam and Iraq. But sometimes… as in the case of one John Lennon, the line between music and politics becomes blurry. As an outspoken champion of peace, Lennon publicly challenged the Nixon administration and their policies in Vietnam during one of the most turbulent times in this nation’s history. This of course was met by secret FBI investigations and eventually all out threats against his safety by branches of our very own government.
The US Vs John Lennon takes an in depth look at the political and social climates of that era with interviews from eye witnesses, historical experts and video footage and compares it to the United States Of America today.
