Syd Barrett Dies At Age 60

One of rock’s legendary stars went dim this week. Syd Barrett, the former lead singer of the influential band, Pink Floyd; passed away at his Cambridgeshire home on Friday, July 7, 2006. He was 60 years old.

The Gaurdian reports that he died from complications related to diabetes; and in a statement made by his brother, Alan, confirming his death he said, “He died peacefully at home. There will be a private family funeral in the next few days.”

R.I.P. Syd.
