On August 14, LTM publishing will release Shadowplayers: Factory Records And Manchester Post-Punk 1978-81, a feature-length documentary on the early history of Factory records and the entire Manchester scene. The film explores the now-mythical period in time through in depth interviews with 22 key participants, including Tony Wilson, Peter Saville, Peter Hook, Vini Reilly, and more.

Since there is a million Factory Records/Manchester-inspired films, books, CDs, etc., I’m not exactly sure if this one is essential (as I’ve yet to see it), but I’m sure the die hard fans will want to get their mitts on this regardless.
