Chris Cunningham’s Latest Music Video

It is official. Chris Cunningham scares the shit out of me. His name first entered my world with his directorial work on the Aphex Twin video “Come To Daddy.” After watching his other music videos for such classics as Bjork’s “All Is Full Of Love” and the disturbing “Windowlicker” by Aphex Twin, he skyrocketed up my list of favorite directors. Ah yes, then there was his short film Rubber Johnny.

After taking seven years off from making promo videos, he has returned with The Horrors’ “Sheena Is A Parasite.” Supposedly Cunningham found this band on MySpace, which if true is mighty impressive. The video features a banshee-like woman, I would assume she is supposed to be Sheena, who morphs and spews her intestines at the viewer. This is definitely not a video for the squeamish. Watch this one at your own risk.
