Monopoly Ditching Cash For Plastic

It may be the end of Monopoly as we know it. Gizmodo recently ran a story showing that future editions of this game will no longer feature the good ol’ multi-colored Monopoly money. Get ready to do even less math, as a Visa debit card and a mini ATM machine will replace the fake cash. Sure, this will help speed up the beginning of a game, but it just doesn’t really feel right without those mini bills stacked up on your side of the board. There is just something oddly gratifying about visually seeing your piles of cash building up. I guess the game is just moving along with the changing times, as I hardly ever use cash either anymore. Hell, I even bought my morning coffee this morning with plastic. Farewell, mini Monopoly money. We’ll miss you!
