Arthur Lee Dies At Age 61

What a sad week in music. First, news of the passing of Tony Ogden, and now the equally depressing news of the passing of Arthur Lee.

Arthur Lee, the singer/guitarist of the influential ’60s band, Love, lost his battle with Leukemia at the age of 61 yesterday in Memphis. If it wasn’t for Love, we might have never had bands like Mazzy Star, The House Of Love, The Damned and Pink Floyd (according to Syd Barrett). Ironically enough, Arthur Lee was often compared to Pink Flyod’s Syd Barrett.
