Former Test Icicle + Whirlwind Heat = New Supergroup

Just as they were starting to turn some heads here in the US, the UK group Test Icicles called it quits. Back in April we reported that ex-Icicle Devonte Hynes joined up with Tom Vek to create the band Naked Babes. With songs such as “Fuckin’ Dumbell Party” and “Iron Not Irony,” it sounded more like an April Fools joke than anything. We did feature the song “Fuckin’ Dumbell Party” on the Tripwire Push Upstairs Podcast.006, which you can download here.

According to NME, Hynes has formed yet another supergroup, under the name Lightspeed Heat. The band is comprised of Hynes along with members of Whirlwind Heat. Their MySpace page doesn’t offer much information, with no streaming audio and only a whopping twelve friends. The Modern Age currently has their song “How Do You Do” up for download, so snag it while you can.
