All right Mr. Billy Corgan, what is the skinny on the reformed “Smashing Pumpkins” and the pending new album? Besides the great bald one, it is unknown as to who is exactly in the Pumpkins these days. Back in April we posted that the “band” was back together, but no other details were made available. A message has finally appeared on the official Pumpkins and Billy Corgan websites, which reads:

“The Smashing Pumpkins are currently in the recording studio with legendary producer Roy Thomas Baker (Queen, The Cars, The Darkness), at work on their first new album since 1999.”

OK, so we know who is producing the album, yet there is no mention of who is in the band. Interesting. I couldn’t help but laugh when I read this quote about the reformed Smashing Pumpkins on Metro Distortion: “And if they disband tomorrow and never put out another album, that’s fine, too, we now have Silversun Pickups.”

I couldn’t agree more!
