Las Manitas Still Has Hope

First there was WOXY and now then there was Las Manitas…

Back in July we professed our admiration for a little Austin establishment called Las Manitas and their impending doom with their lease. Until today we haven’t heard much news about what was happening with the place that introduced breakfast tacos to countless Yankees during SXSW.

Austinist has shed some light on the subject, and it looks like it might be better than we thought. City Council members have written a formal letter to Marriot saying that they would need approval before any more plans are made to build/tear down. Also, if you are in the giving spirit, there is a “Save Las Manitas Happy Hour” tonight from 5:30-7:30pm. A $5.00 donation is suggested.
