Normally we wouldn’t cover any news related to Jimmy Buffett, but this was too bizarre to pass up. It seems that singer of such gems as “Cheeseburger In Paradise” and “Margaritaville” was busted for having over one hundred tablets of ecstasy in his luggage at the Toulon-Hyeres International Airport in France. Paaaarty!
So was he on his way to a rave, ready to break out some glow sticks? According to the NY Post, a spokeswoman for Buffett said: “It was medicine prescribed by his doctor.” Uh, can you get ecstasy from your doctor? I think Buffett is getting his doctor and his dealer a bit mixed up.
Fortunately for Parrotheads, Buffett was not thrown in jail. In fact, his punishment was quite light, just being issued a fine of 300 euros. Move over frozen beverages, ecstasy is Bufett’s new way to cope with a blown out flip-flop and a cut foot from a pop top. C’mon Buffet, bust out some trance records and get this party started!
