The PLUG Independent Music Awards are back in action, as the nomination process is officially underway. We will have to wait until next month for the nominees to be announced in their various categories, including best independent music, video, label, festival, website, print and online media, radio, record store and DVD. An advisory board, also known as the PLUG Cartel, will select the nominees. Once these have been selected, the PLUG Awards website will allow fans from around the globe to cast votes for their favorites.
The awards ceremony will take place at NYC’s Irving Plaza on February 10, 2007. In the meantime, PLUG has events in various cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit, Brooklyn and Portland, OR. These events will help bring attention to PLUG in markets other than the Big Apple. PLUG Miami is scheduled for October 17, 19 and 20, 2006 at various clubs. PLUG Brooklyn will be held on November 17, 2006 at The Syrup Room.
