Sirius Satellite Lets Us Relive CBGB’s Final Night

By now everybody knows that the legendary NYC punk venue CBGB has closed its doors forever. Although we will never get to see the most horrendous bathroom on the planet ever again, we can relive the final performance on its stage thanks to Sirius Satellite. The show, which took place on October 15, featured Patti Smith and her band, along with special guest Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The re-broadcast of Smith’s concert, the final night at CBGB, will take place Thursday at 2pm ET on their Disorder channel. It isn’t as cool as having been one of the lucky few who got to take in the show in person, but it is better than nothing.

If you don’t have a subscription to Sirius, you can still listen in as they are offering two days of free service. To cash in on this free trial, head over to sirius.com/howard.
