Beck Blocked From Charting In The UK

Now this is just plain silly. Beck’s latest album, The Information, was released on Monday in the UK. Even if it happens to sell eight zillion copies, there is no chance of it actually charting thanks to a bizarre ruling by the UK’s Official Chart Company.

Why the fuss and the slap in the face to the Beckster? Well, the OCC has ruled that the extra DVD containing homemade videos for each song, as well as the cool ass sticker sheets have given him an “unfair advantage” over other artists. WHAT? Perhaps the OCC was bullied at school for collecting stickers when they were children, as this is ridiculous. Rather than being commended for innovative packaging, he is being blocked from the UK charts. What a bunch of douches!
