Each year the Royal College Of Art puts together RCA Secret, which is an exhibition and sale of postcard sized works of art. Each work is priced at £35, which goes towards the Royal College of Art Fine Art Student Award Fund. Hundreds of artists participated in this year’s sale, including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Paula Rego, David Bailey, Christo, fashion designer Sir Paul Smith, musicians Graham Coxon (ex-Blur) and John Squire (ex-Stone Roses).
Of course, there is a catch. The artist of each piece remains anonymous until it is purchased. You could end up with a work from an accomplished artist, a musician or an up-and-coming painter. Our friends in the UK can see the art in person at the Royal College Of Art from November 17-24. For those of us here in the States, the works will be available to view on November 17 only, but you will still need a friend in London to make the purchase in person.
