Bloc Party’s Matt Tong Admitted To Hospital

Bloc Party is one man down, as drummer Matt Tong was admitted to a hospital in Atlanta after their performance last night. Tong suffered from a collapsed lung, which required treatment and will cause several cancellations on their North American tour with Panic! At The Disco.

A statement on Bloc Party’s official site says: “Doctors at the hospital in Atlanta say Matt is in a comfortable condition and not in any danger, he will however be staying in hospital for at least the next three days for observation and it’s not clear at this stage when Matt will be fit to resume performing.

The band will definitely not be playing at the Charlotte, NC (Cricket Arena), Fairfax, VA (Patriot Center) and both New York Madison Square Garden shows in the coming week.”

We will keep you posted as more information about Tong and specific show cancellations are announced. We wish Matt Tong a speedy recovery!
