Download – Money Mark “Picking Up The Pieces”

You likely know Money Mark from his stint with The Beastie Boys, most notably as the provider of the funked out keyboard sounds on 1992’s spectacular Check Your Head album, or perhaps from one of his three solo LPs. On February 20, Money Mark will release his fourth solo album, Brand New By Tomorrow, his first offering since 2001’s dance-inducing, mostly instrumental Change Is Coming LP released through the now defunct Emperor Norton label.

“Picking Up The Pieces” is pulled from Brand New By Tomorrow and as you’ll soon see, it’s quite a departure for Money Mark. He is now a full fledged singer/songwriter, filling his compositions with heartfelt lyrics about heartbreak and a throw back, retro R&B vibe. Though winter’s fast approaching, Brand New By Tomorrow is an album to throw on at your first back yard BBQ of 2007. You’ll see what I mean.
