People Like Pearl Jam, Clive Davis Likes Donuts

I don’t know how I missed this yesterday; I know Stereogum commented on it too. In the largest midnight sale in Tower Records history, Clive Davis came out to pass around 1,000 Krispy Kreme donuts to the people waiting in line for free tickets to a Pearl Jam secret show and to buy the new album. I guess it was the least he could do to help out. Besides, it’s just pocket change for him, right?

It just amazes me that in 2006 people waited and braved the elements for over 48 hours for some Pearl Jam tickets. Maybe I am a weenie, but I didn’t even want to go outside to the bus stop this week because of my allergies. Additionally, I can’t name a band I would wait that long for, unless anyone knows of a Pulp reunion anytime soon, but 48 hours? Damn. Hmmm… Either these fans were superhuman, or just plain crazy…and what is this? No flannel plaid shirts? Poseurs!
