Damon Albarn Creates New Band

So will we ever get another album from Blur? We have read that work on the album has been under way, but it was been several months since any updates have surfaced. It doesn’t help that Damon Albarn keeps getting sidetracked. Rather than working with Blur, the next project from Albarn may very well be with a new group. According to NME, he was working on a solo record with Danger Mouse, but the duo have decided to focus their time on a new album, The Good The Bad And The Queen.

This concept album about London will feature Albarn, The Clash bassist Paul Simonon, The Verve’s Simon Tong and afrobeat drummer Tony Allen. The unnamed group will release their debut single sometime in October, with the album due in January.

No other information is available yet, but this Britpop fanatic is totally excited to know that new tunes from Damon are on the way!
