More Details On Damon Albarn’s Latest Project

Last month we caught wind that Damon Albarn (Blur/Gorillaz) was working on a new project, titled The Good, The Bad And The Queen. The project’s website is now live, which features a teaser video just to get us craving more. Combining the talents of Albarn, Tony Allen, Simon Tong (The Verve) and Paul Simonon (The Clash) under the production wizardry of Danger Mouse should result in a very impressive album.

In an email from the official Blur website, Albarn discussed the idea behind this new album. He said: “The Good The Bad and The Queen, it’s… it’s a story, it’s not a band. I’m very very proud of this record and I think it’s worth while putting it out. It’s a very English record, it’s the first time I’ve really written about home, since sort of Parklife. I’ve always wanted to play the Roundhouse. You know, I love the idea that you have to be something that hasn’t been heard before.”

Their first gig was announced today, taking place at London’s Roundhouse on October 26. Anybody want to buy me a plane ticket?

The Good, The Bad And The Queen is due out in 2007, with their debut single hitting stores in October. I can’t wait!!!!!!!
