Preview New Track From Air

Back in November we gave you the scoop on the French duo Air’s new album, Pocket Symphony. The Nigel Godrich-produced record will be released on March 5, featuring collaborations with Jarvis Cocker (Pulp) and Neil Hannon (Divine Comedy).

The sound of the album has deep influences from the Far East, including use of the Koto (Japanese floor harp) and the Shamisen (resembles a Japanese banjo). According to the bio on their MySpace page, Air’s Nicolas Godin was taught how to play these instruments by an Okinawa master. This will no doubt add an interesting element to their always intriguing sound.

Air will begin their European tour in March, and will perform some US dates in April and May. You can preview the new track “Once Upon A Time” on the album’s official website and on Air’s MySpace page.
