Midnight Movies’ New Album Due In April

After staying under the radar since their ‘04 self-titled album, the Los Angeles based Midnight Movies have returned with Lion The Girl. This will mark their sophomore LP, due out on April 24 via New Line Records.

The band now features a new rhythm section, with Ryan Wood on bass and Sandra Vu on drums. Yes, this means that frontwoman Gena Olivier will no longer handle drumming duties, which is a bit of a bummer. Founding member Larry Schemel is still on board as well on guitar.

Steve Fisk, known for his work with grunge icons Screaming Trees and Nirvana, produced Lion The Girl. You can sample the band’s new sound by watching the video for the new tune “Patient Eye” below.
