Unsigned Austin-based quintet (and new Tripwire favorites) The Lemurs will kick off a short, four-date mini tour tonight at The Temple Bar in Santa Monica. They’ll follow that up with a pair of LA gigs at El Cid and the Silverlake Lounge on January 23 and 25, respectively, before making their way back towards home with a stop in Tucson, AZ. They’ll also play a one-off gig in Chicago for the February installment of the Tripwire/En Prise/Music Nation new music showcase at Schubas on February 28.
The West Coast trek is a bit of a buzz tour for The Lemurs, who are actively searching for a label partner to release the follow up to their eight-track, self-titled 2006 EP. The band was named to multiple top 10 year end lists in their home town (a city with more than a few notable music prospects), including The Austin Chrionicles‘ Best Texas Albums of 2006.
With a solid college and specialty radio push planned for March, there’s no question that you’ll be hearing more and more from The Lemurs in the coming weeks and months.
