Irish cutie pie indie pop sensations The Chalets have been getting praise from all sorts of UK press outlets, including NME, The Fly, Drowned In Sound, and even Sir Mutha-F*ckin’ Elton John (in Time Out London). What’s the fuss all about? Well, The Chalets are fronted by two extremely cute ’60s-lookin’ chicks and backed by three indie rock-lookin’ dudes. They play simple, upbeat and catchy pop songs that are almost impossible not to get addicted to.
Having already graced the US with the four-song Nightrock EP last year, The Chalets have announced release details for their debut album. The 14-track set is called Check In and will be released on March 20 via Setanta Records. The track posted below is pulled from that album, so go ahead and get an early taste of what’s to come. If you dig Belle & Sebastian, The B52s, The Breeders, and even Junior Senior, you’ll probably want to go pick up a copy as soon as it hits the shelves (or iTunes).
