Looking for more of that swanky angular sound that’s coming out of the UK nowadays? Hot Club De Paris (from Liverpool) are here to satisfy you. While the trio may sound a bit like Arctic Monkeys, give ‘em a chance, as these guys are having quite a bit of fun.
Taking time out halfway through the set, Paul Rafferty dropped the bass to start a beat-boxing session which then quickly turned into an accapella set of the three lads harmonizing on what sounded like a nice anthem to down a few pints to. Guitarist Matthew Smith highlighted the set with what is sure to become his signature spastic, yet technically sound licks. Their debut, Drop It ‘Til It Pops, is out on Moshi Moshi Records.
