Austin: White Rabbits @ Levi’s/FADER Fort

Things are officially underway here in Austin at the Levi’s/FADER Fort. Although the Texas warmth is hiding behind a few clouds right now, the space is filling up as folks roll in for a few SoCo beverages and some great live music. Today started off with NYC’s White Rabbits, who rocked through a few tunes from their forthcoming album Fort Nightly.

Their live performances are always a mighty good time, driven by a three-drummer assult, manic keyboard playing and pitch-perfect harmonies. Their unique flavor of indie-pop can change from infectious sunny melodies to frantic beats in the drop of a hat. At times they remind me a bit of the Walkmen, especially with the songs based around jangly piano, but with much stronger pop sensibilities. White Rabbits were a great way to kick things off here at The Fort!

We’ll have many more updates coming up throughout the day. Up next will be Stardeath & White Dwarfs. Time to grab a Bud and catch some more music.
