Austin: Badly Drawn Boy @ Levi’s/FADER Fort

It was a true honor having the one and only Badly Drawn Boy on stage at today’s Tripwire festivities at the Levi’s/FADER Fort. His setup for this performance was quite interesting, with two acoustic guitars, electric bass and a dude playing on a box-type instrument for percussion. Damon Gough kept his storytelling to a minimum, only pausing to apologize for his tardiness, as he had just gotten a new pair of trainers.

He kept his set mainly focused on material from his latest album, Born In The UK. This seemed to please James Walsh from Starsailor, who stood front and center singing along to every word. Gough did drop one classic in for his fans, which was much appreciated as well.

Exactly how can we top Badly Drawn Boy today? It is going to be tough, but we’ve still got sets from Youth Group, OFFICE, Amy Winehouse and Datarock still to come. This is turning out to be a brilliant day!
