The reformed Smashing Pumpkins (a.k.a. Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin) have announced their first North American tour date – a headlining slot at the Virgin Festival in Toronto, ON. The “Pumpkins” will close out the show on the festival’s second night, Sunday, September 9, and will be sharing the stage with The Killers, Tokyo Police Club and Jamie T.

The “Smashing Pumpkins” will release a new album on July 7 called Zeitgeist. Do I need to keep doing the quotes thing around “Pumpkins” or does everyone get that Iha and D’arcy and/or Auf der Maur aren’t in the band?
