April 3 will see Andy Partidge’s new album project, Monstrance, hitting stores. The founder of XTC got together with XTC’s original keyboardist Barry Andrews and drummer Martyn Barker to make an improvisational album. After recording live for three days, the trio came up with nearly eight hours of material that was mixed by Stuart Rowe (Future Sound Of London guitarist) and Merv Carswell. The end result is a two-disc set that is coming out on Partridge’s Ape House label.
