Joy Divison Sneakers?

We’re not sure if these are legit or not, but a friend of ours sent over a link to a story about Joy Division sneaker prototypes. These trainers, supposedly created by New Balance and an additional pair by Nike, feature the band’s album artwork from Unknown Pleasures on the tongue and insole. The inclusion of the album’s Factory Records catalog number on the back is a cool touch, but we’re not sure how we feel about a tribute sneaker for Joy Division. Definitely a strange idea. The pictures below are posted on Hype Beast and Cerysmatic Factory, where you can find additional info and photos. The Factory Records shoebox is kinda rad.
