Celebrate Earth Day With The Walkmen And Kaiser Chiefs

Now celebrating its second year, the Green Apple Music & Arts Festival is bringing tons of music to locations in New York, Chicago and San Francisco over Earth Day Weekend. Some of these events will even be free, including performances in Central Park, Lincoln Park, Golden Gate Park and Grand Central Terminal.

In case you didn’t already know, Earth Day Weekend takes place from April 20th to the 22nd. Every venue housing festival performances is going green, so they will be using corn plastic cups and straws, recycled paper products and recycled plastic trash can liners. The entire festival is also carbon neutral, meaning it will offset any carbon dioxide emission produced as a result of the festival, making this the nation’s largest carbon-neutral event ever. Cool, right?

Performers involved with the festival include The Decemberists, Kaiser Chiefs. Electric Six, Andrew Bird, The Walkmen, Smoosh and many more.
