Download – Secretly Canadian Gives Free Music To Celebrate 100th Album

The fantastic indie label Secretly Canadian has a few things to celebrate right now. They have recently rocked through their eleven-year anniversary, and will soon release their one hundredth album. They are now the first Indiana-based label to release one hundred titles, so a round of congratulations is totally in order. Well done!

Album number one hundred, titled SC100, looks to be a must have for any fan of artists on Secretly Canadian. It was a project three years in the making, where all artists who issued recordings from album number one (June Panic’s Glory Hole) to number ninety-nine (Swearing At Mororists’ Last Night Becomes This Morning) were up for inclusion. Each artist was to cover two songs by a label mate, selected a la the name-in-a-hat selection process.

The results will hit shops on April 24 as a two-disc set, although you will only be able to purchase the second disc’s material from digital download retailers. They are also offering up three tracks for free download, including one outtake of Marmoset covering Jens Lekman’s “Black Cab,” which does not appear on the release. Download these three tracks while they are still available!
