Last night I was watching a rerun of Scrubs, during which Turk joins the hospital’s “air band,” Cool Cats (although the earlier name Mercy Flush was funnier). Their air-performance of Boston’s “More Than A Feeling” is mighty hilarious, which leads me to our fascination with the art of air performances, specifically air guitar.
It is pretty hard to believe that it even exists, but the US Air Guitar Championships are back for their fifth year. It has grown to a fourteen-city tour, including stops in DC, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Austin, Los Angeles and several others. The winner from each city will be flown to NYC to fight for the title of US Air Guitar Champion. The king of US air guitar will then go to Finland to compete in the world championships, battling it out with contenders from at least thirteen other countries.
Make your momma proud and get your air guitar on at one of the following US competition dates. We know you’ve got some killer rock posturing to show off. Get those leather pants ready and rock your ass off, air-style.
