Now THIS will be an interesting tour. The Decemberists have confirmed five outdoor concerts that will feature the band backed by a symphony. The band partnered up with composer Sean O’Loughlin to give their songs a symphonic makeover, which should be simply amazing. It looks like the symphony will not be accompanying the band on their Bonnaroo or Central Park Summerstage performances, which is a bit of a bummer. I guess we’ll be making the trip to Philly in July, or perhaps Chicago. It should be noted that the Chicago performance is FREE!
