White Stripes Get Their Vinyl All Icky

While we anxiously wait for The White Stripes’ next studio album, Icky Thump, it looks like fans will get a taste of some new tracks before the June 19 release date. Jack and Meg announced that they will put out two singles before the full record hits stores.

The first will be a 7″ vinyl single of the track “Rag And Bone” on the a-side, with an etching on the b-side. It will be available for free with copies of the June 6th edition of NME, finally giving us a reason to actually buy the magazine. I mean, how can you go wrong with a limited edition, gatefold single with etched red vinyl? SWEET!

This will be followed by the release of “Icky Thump” as a single on June 11. It will be made available on both CD and vinyl. The analog version will be pressed on white vinyl with an etching on the b-side. The band’s website claims that if you line up the etchings on “Rag And Bone” with those on “Icky Thump,” something pretty sweet happens. We’re quite curious to see what this “essential part of The White Stripes’ history” actually is.
