The End Of New Order May Be Upon Us

So we’ve been hearing rumors about the legendary group New Order possibly calling it quits for a while now. Could this finally be it? Is New Order no more? Back in November we reported that Peter Hook said they were breaking up, while Stephen Morris denied it. He seemed to believe it would be more of a temporary hiatus rather than a complete break-up. Well, it looks like the end may finally be here.

According to NME, bassist Peter Hook was recently interviewed on XFM, where he said: “I spoke to Perry, and he asked me to play bass, as he’d heard about New Order splitting up. Well yeah, me and Bernard (Sumner) aren’t working together.”

The interesting part is that he still isn’t 100% sure about the break-up, as he added: “Bernard went off for a break with Electronic, but that was different. But it’s like the boy who cried wolf this time.” Things seem a bit bleak right now, but perhaps Sumner will have a change of heart. Only time will tell.
