Concretes Singer Annouces Solo Album

It has been nearly a year since Victoria Bergsman, lead singer and founding member of the Swedish group The Concretes, announced that she was leaving the band to pursue a solo career. Bergsman’s new musical project will be under the name Taken By Trees. Her debut album, Open Field, has been completed and will be out next month.

Rough Trade will be releasing the album overseas on June 18th, with no word about a US date as of yet. She has posted four demo songs on her official site, including “Tell Me,” “Too Young,” “Lost And Found” and “Hours Pass Like Centuries.”

According to NME, Peter Bjorn & John’s Bjorn Yttling and John Eriksson will appear on the album. Eriksson also co-produced the songs with Bergsman. Electrelane’s Verity Susman also helped out in the studio, providing backing vocals and piano arrangements.
