R.E.M. Begins Work On New Album

The legendary Athens, GA group R.E.M. have teamed up with producer Jacknife Lee to work on their upcoming new record. Jacknife has recently worked on albums from Bloc Party, Snow Patrol and the upcoming new one from Editors, so we’re quite curious to hear what he cranks out with Stipe & Co.

According to their official website, the trio began their recording sessions in Vancouver earlier this month. After a few weeks in the Great White North, they will continue working in Ireland, where they’re also performing a five-night stand of sold out concerts at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre. The shows take place June 30th thru July 5th.
