There is no questioning the fact that The Hacienda was a very important place in modern music history. The legendary Manchester nightclub first opened its doors in 1982, giving birth to Acid House music and a whole new club culture. To celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary, Peter Hook (New Order, Joy Division) is launching a series of events and projects with Hacienda 25.
Hooky has launched a MySpace page to keep fans in the loop on upcoming events, with an official website currently under construction. With the summertime (hopefully) release of the Joy Division biopic Control, it is rather cool seeing Factory Records hop back into the spotlight for a moment. Now go put on your favorite Happy Mondays record, throw on some baggy pants and get your dance on!
