Chicago’s Magnolia Electric Co. is racking up some serious frequent flier miles this year. After rocking the US with Son Volt, crossing the big pond for a few weeks to perform in Europe, even taking the stage at All Tomorrow’s Parties, somehow they still have some fuel left in their tank for more shows overseas as well as in the States.
Super cool indie label Secretly Canadian has a badical release coming up for Magnolia Electric Company, The Sojourner Boxset. Yup, a boxed set that includes enough material for three long players, an EP and a DVD. This definitely sounds too good to be true, but it’s a fact Jack! It required the work of thirteen musicians in five locations with four recording engineers, three filmmakers, two designers and one songwriter. That’s enough to make your head spin.
