Cat Power Wins Shortlist Music Prize


We’ve been following the Shortlist Music Prizes since March and are happy to say that they have finally named a winner. Cat Power was named the leading lady for her album The Greatest, beating out the likes of Band of Horses, Beirut, Bonnie Prince Billy, Girl Talk, Hot Chip, Joanna Newsom, Regina Spektor, Spank Rock and Tom Waits.

The five previous winners are Sigur Ros, N*E*R*D, Damien Rice, TV on the Radio and Sufjan Stevens. Cat Power is also is going down in history as the first woman to win the award. Congrats are definitely in order for Chan!!!
