The Phoenix group The Format will be embarking on a fifty-city tour. This will be the band’s third tour in support of their latest album, Dog Problems. While that is awesome, what is really interesting is their decision to give away Dog Problems for free starting on June 26. The album will be available for free digitally over a two-week period.
About the decision to give away their LP, singer Nate Ruess said: “Owning our own publishing and master has allowed us the freedom to experiment. We’d be doomed if we sat around and waited for things like radio play to come around. We’re just not that band.”
If you’re new to The Format, why not snag the album for free? The band is also embracing technology in another way, offering up their own branded mobile plan this summer through Sonopia.
