Exclusive Video – Behind The Scenes With Editors

Editors were recently in Brooklyn shooting a music video for the title track off their new album, An End Has A Start. The Tripwire stopped by the shoot, which was set in a cavernous brick warehouse on the fringe of Brooklyn near New York Bay. Apart from the band, the cast included fifteen or twenty dancers clad in black unitards, neon spandex tights, and white platform shoes, who would have been at home in a Daft Punk video.


According to frontman Tom Smith, “['An End Has A Start'] is a pop song, we wanted to make a pop video.” So who better than Diane Martel to direct it? Never heard of Diane Martel? She has directed videos for the likes of Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, and, more pertinently, The Bravery and The Killers.

The Tripwire caught up with Smith and bassist Russell Leetch for a few minutes between takes to get the inside scoop:
