It has been a while since Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore has cranked out a solo album. To support the release, he has officially announced eleven tour dates. Kicking off at Hoboken, NJ’s Maxwell’s on September 24, he’ll be hitting both coasts but not much in between.
Moore will be backed by fellow Sonic Youth member Steve Shelley on drums, Samara Lubelski on violin, Christopher Brokaw on guitar and Matt Heyner on bass. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for more dates.
Trees Outside The Academy will be released on September 18 via Moore’s own Ecstatic Peace label.
