Time To Get Ready For The Austin City Limits Music Festival

After months of waiting, it is just about time for this year’s Austin City Limits Music Festival. Having a three-day outdoor event in one of the hottest months of Texas makes ACL an endurance test, so it is time to stock up on sunblock and start hydrating. Although it is just about impossible to predict Texas weather beyond a couple of days, right now Weather.com is forecasting somewhat tolerable temperatures in the low ’90s with just a slight chance of rain and/or storms.

With a lineup this massive, it is a smart move to go ahead and start mapping out who all you want to see. One nice thing that the festival’s website offers is a pretty cool online tool to help sort your schedule. You just click which artists you are interesting in catching, and bingo… you have an ACL itinerary.

We just attempted to do ours, which was no easy task. With eight stages of music, it there are a few instances where flipping a coin is the only way to decide. We’re still working on ours… but you can bet your sweet ass we’ll be catching LCD Soundsystem, Spoon, Reverend Horton Heat, Andrew Bird, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Arcade Fire, White Stripes, Midlake, Wilco, Bob Dylan and most importantly, BJORK!
