Help Oxfam With The Cake Sale

It’s a little different than those middle school bake sales, but the idea is the same. Yep Roc is putting out a fund raising record called The Cake Sale, with all proceeds going to benefit Oxfam’s Make Trade Fair campaign and their overseas program work. The Cake Sale is a collective concept album featuring nine new songs from the likes of Neil Hannon (The Divine Comedy), Glen Hansard (The Frames), Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol), Nina Persson (The Cardigans), Nick Seymour (Crowded House), Josh Ritter, Gemma Hayes, The Thrills, Lisa Hannigan, Bell X1 and more.

As of now, the CD is only available in Ireland and the UK, but us North Americans will be able to pick one up starting October 16. You can pre-order the album now via the website, and preview the tracks by clicking here, or watching the video for “Some Surprise” (Gary Lightbody and Lisa Hannigan) found below. It’s not as feel-goody as the old “We Are The World” video, but it looks a hell of a lot better.
