Playboy Reveals “Rock The Rabbit”

‘Sophisticated’ nudie mag Playboy will unveil a new rock/hip-hop/art/fashion feature next month called Rock The Rabbit. The piece will feature both established and up and coming artists and will be shot by the legendary Mick Rock.

To coincide with the feature, Playboy asked the Rock The Rabbit musicians to design their own limited edition T-shirts, which will be available this spring/summer at the Playboy Boutique at the Palms in Vegas and online. This fall, Playboy will auction off the original prototype Ts with proceeds going to LIFEbeat: The Music Industry Fights AIDS.

Clearly, Playboy is really embracing the music thing this year, as a series of Rock The Rabbit events are being scheduled throughout 2007 as well. The best part (and the reason that I even bothered to post this story) is that they’re actually using some good bands for this Rock The Rabbit thing. When I first heard about it, I was expecting a big feature on the return of Motley Crue or something, but check out the bands who are taking part in the project below. Not too shabby Playboy.

Win Tickets To See FELA! On Broadway

We’re not sure Fela Kuti’s epic story should be told in any other format besides the musical, and we don’t even like musicals!  That said, it just so happens we’re giving away two tickets to see the show for zero dollars. All you need to do is leave us a haiku in the comments before [...]
